Black & Decker TR1400SB 4-Slice Stainless-Steel Toaster

So I needed to buy a new toaster. After reading a kizillion reviews I decided that buying a new toaster was like a box of chocolates---you never know what you are going to get. Then I read one review that said something like, this is not a major purchase. It's not like buying a new car. Don't overthink it and don't waste a lot of time trying to decide. So I opted for the Black & Decker TR1400SB 4 slice stainless steel toaster because I have a Black & Decker coffee pot that has served me very well for the past three years. Ding-dong, toaster has arrived. I unpacked it and put it on my kitchen counter and I must say that it fit right in with the kitchen decor and it didn't take up a lot of space. I read the directions before using ( I strongly suggest that reading the directions first is worth the time spent) and then surprise surprise. The first time I used it my toast came out perfect, just the way I like it on setting 4 (use setting 7 or 8 for darker toast).I have no comments about...

So much research...just stop and buy this toaster
I research everything. It's what I do. However, I got a little nuttier than usual researching a toaster. There are SO many toasters and so many reviews and such a big price range. I'm going to assume you are also researching so you'll know what I'm talking about. It was down to this one, the egg sandwich one and the Cuisinart. And then I woke up and realized it was just a toaster and I was not going to spend a ton of money on it. So - Black and Decker won and I have been super happy. It's quick and toasts evenly. It's super easy to clean - even the stainless part. It looks nice. Stop wasting time reading toaster reviews. It was almost as bad as buying a mattress.

Very nice toaster
I was hesitant on purchasing this toaster since there are not many reviews yet. We received it yesterday afternoon. It looks very nice and is built pretty well. The retractable cord is useful feature.

The setting are very strong. I put a slice of whole grain bread to toast on level 3 and it came out very nicely toasted. Start your toasting with a very low level and work your way up.

Update: After a few days, I noticed the settings on one side stopped working. I had it replaced by amazon in three days! This new one works great and the retractable cord actually retracts all the way (like in the picture). I'll still keep it at 5 stars since I probably had a lemon for the first one.
